Who is my Advisor?

All students are provided with advising at DePaul. Advising is a relationship of shared responsibilities, as outlined in DePaul's Statement on Advising. If you have been assigned to an advisor, that person's name will be displayed in Campus Connection.

Log on to Campus Connection, then under your Main Menu For Students, click the "View My Advisors" link. At DePaul, students will often have multiple advisors assigned if they have two declared majors or are active in special programs, such as the Stars Program.

Another place where your assigned advisor is displayed is in your Course History or Degree Progress Report. At the top of both of these reports, your advisor's name is listed. If you have two advisors, only your primary or academic advisor will show in the report. Academic Advisors only have the right to approve or override course selection for graduation progress. (Remember, you can access all your advisors under the advisor tab described above.) To see your Course History or Degree Progress Reports, look under the same For Students Main Menu in Campus Connection where each report has a link.

Students admitted to DePaul University become members of one of the eight DePaul schools and colleges. This is the school or college that houses your chosen degree, academic program and major field of study. Until you declare a major, you are assigned an advisor by your college/school advising office. Usually, once you declare, you are assigned a faculty advisor who will partner with you and your staff advisor to help answer any questions you may have about how DePaul fits in with your academic and career goals. All students must meet not only university requirements, but, also requirements specific to their chosen major or degree program.

If you have no one listed as your advisor in Campus Connection or in your Course History or Degree Progress Reports, then you need to contact your college office. Below are the websites, email addresses, and phone lines where you can inquire about getting assigned an advisor!
