Degree Conferral

In order to have your degree conferral (granting) process started, you must apply online to formally indicate your intentions to graduate at a particular term. DePaul confers degrees at multiple points during the year, always at the close of terms. Submitting this on-line application does not guarantee the conferral of a degree from DePaul University.

Your degree requirements are evaluated against your earned credits by both your college office and Student Records at the end of the expected completion term you indicate. If you meet all requirements, your degree will be conferred within 30 days of the end of the term. Diplomas are mailed from Student Records to graduates; all financial holds must be resolved before your diploma is produced and mailed.

DePaul reports degree conferral information to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) monthly. Many companies and agencies use the NSC service to verify awarded degrees. Your degree can only be verified by the Clearinghouse if your Privacy Settings in Campus Connect indicate this as releasable information at the time your degree is conferred. Please verify your Privacy Settings before the end of your completion term.

Steps for Degree Conferral:

1. Review your Degree Progress and degree requirements with an Academic Advisor.
2. Verify and plan your graduation term with your advisor or college office.
3. Verify the spelling of your name in Campus Connect. Diplomas are published with your name as it appears in your official student records. Changes and update information at sr.depaul.edu/name_ssnchange.shtml
4. Go to the online Degree Conferral Application in Campus Connection and complete the easy to follow steps, including the year end commencement graduation ceremony reservation form.
5. When you complete the online Degree Conferral Application, you also must complete the additional steps required by your College. Those instructions appear under College Instructions on the Degree Conferral Application site.
